Pantone Color of the Year

Every year since 2000, the color geniuses of Pantone come up with a color of the year. The color for 2014 is “Radiant Orchid”. It was picked out this year in London and was described as “a captivating harmony of fuschia, purple and pink undertones”. Each color represents something for that year and for 2014 Radiant Orchid is supposed to inspire creativity, inspiration, and innovation. I love the idea of a universal color creating the same feelings for all. Although this color is a little brighter than amethyst, I think it really complements the gem.
